Together Forever

Hey guys! Yumi here~

My grandpa and grandma have been with each other since the age of 17. Many that knew them said their love was one of the greatest love stories ever told.

My grandpa passed away 5 years ago, and since then, my grandma had been coping with her grief by writing letters to him. Each letter ends with a 'good night my love,' and in one, had written that she couldn't wait for the day they will be reunited.

Yesterday, we had the viewing at the funeral home, and today was the funeral service at the church/ burial.

There's me fooling around a little before leaving for the viewing (*゜v゜)

My mum took all the pictures - the rest of us were busy with stuffing tissues in our eye and noses

There's my brother, baby sister, and grandma.

I was really conflicted with whether or not I should post about the viewing and funeral service. I finally decided that I want people to know this amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and servant of God. There must have been more than a hundred people at her service. She had left her mark in many people's lives, and I want to share with people the celebration of this beautiful life.

After the viewing yesterday, we went over to eat at Cousin's BBQ - about a 20 minute drive from the funeral home.

On the way, we drove through many, MANY fields. Texas is extremely spread out compared to California. It's like BUILDING, then like..... fields... for a mile or so - then it's like BUILDING AGAIN! Very different from California. It's beautiful! Both places are beautiful in their own way♡

So here's the place we visited. LOVED the decor!

There was a whole bunch of these kinds of signs around~

Yum!!

The food was GOOOD!

The next day, we woke up around 6 in the morning to get ready to leave for the church at 8:30.

We ended up having like an extra hour on our hands OTL and we could have totally used that hour to get some extra sleep in.
Anyways, I ended up not taking pictures at the church ~ we were all too preoccupied. However, when we got back, some of the church members had prepared some food - so I took pictures of that
(> ∇ <);;

It was a looong day, and I got so sleepy around 4:oo

But even though I had rest, I'm still very sleepy right now! It's been an exhausting two days.

Now I chall leave you guys with a picture of me and my baby sister. Probably the only picture you guys will see of me from today (*゜v゜) after the church service, all the crying made everyone look terrible (> ∇ <);;

Maw Maw, even though we'll miss you here, I'm happy that you can finally reunite with Paw Paw.

Airporting!

Hi Loves! Yumi here~

So I'm no longer at hooome in Cali~ I'm over in Texas right now.

The reason I'm here is actually pretty grim and quite saddening

My grandma from my stepdad's side passed on, so we're all gathered here for her funeral.

Although she is no longer here, I do believe that she is in a much better place now with my grandpa
I'm supposed to sing two songs: Bach/Gounod's Ave Maria and Bette Midler's Wind Beneath My Wings.

I was practicing the first song for the first half of my day, but I need a break.

SOOOOO

We actually just got in yesterday, so I took a few pictures while we were in the airport as well as on the airplane!

Here are some of the stores we went to at the airport.

If you guys look at the picture above, they have a bunch of travel sized products boxed up in little individual packages. It's soo interestiiiingggg!!!

Goodbye Cali!!

We had two flights total and had to transfer to another plane after landing in Arizona.
The first plane BUTT UGLY, smelled funny, and was probably one of the smallest, unkempt planes I've ever been on. The pouches attached behind the seats were dirty, and even the magazines and brochures inside them looked completely worn, tattered, and stained. The windows were so dirty that some of the pictures I had taken looked hazy because the windows were dirty.

Second plane was much bigger, a lot more comfortable, and was loaaadss cleaner.

This is the tea that I drank on the second flight. And as you guys can see, the magazines and brochures are clean enough that I feel safe touching them and looking through them. (> ∇ <);;

In the picture above, that thing to hold up your head while you're sleeping - I think I'd be too embarrassed to own something like that

After a total of about... was it 3 hours? Maybe even 3.5 hours - we made it to Texas!

Well~ it's about time I get back to practicing!

Pink Fevah!!

Hello everyone! This is Jenny-Fah comin' at you with her first post! woohoo! /o/

Spring is here and I'm finding myself becoming a little bit obsessed with pink! ;P

It started when I decided to buy tickets to see Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (this sunday! can't wait~) and then decided  I was gonna do something out of my comfort zone, go all out, and get dressed up in a very Japanese Kyary style for the occassion :)

So! I bought a cotton candy pink wig and the rest is history haha

 This was the original mess it came in when I bought it haha! I wanted to style it and cut it specifically like this:
but honestly, the wig I bought wasn't all that great; it was made of acrylic strands so you couldn't heat it, it had a specific (formless) precut, and the netting was a bit too spaced out to really do too much.

Of course, I didn't know this at the time and I was pretty excited cause it was my very first wig! I didn't want to mess it up, so I called my friend and Hairstylist, Jeff Most, to hook me up with a tutorial on how to go about it :)

When I went to his salon, he gave me a good scolding about buying such poor quality and not consulting him first XD; (woops...) But he showed me the ropes and worked his magic turning the mess you see above into this VERY cute little number right here:

Thank you Jeff Most. You are a Wig and Hair master. v_v

I'm EXTREMELY ecstatic about how lovely it came out :'D He took dirt and made it into gold haha! I'm very grateful, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who lives in the Jersey area!

He also took me out to buy a nicer wig of higher quality so I still have an opportunity to get a wig with the original style I was looking for :) stay tuned for that!

In other news, fellow Oishii Project member, Chikage and I are performing in NYC at Reni's Maid Cafe'! The same day as the Kyary Pamyu Pamyu show :D so if you are around do come see us! we perform at 11am and I'll be sporting my cute new wig ;) and these cute 3D nail art glue ons:

When I said I was going ALL out, I really did mean it haha XD

Until next time!

花見

Hi guys!! Yumiko here~

This past weekend I had the chance to go to a "Sakura Festival" here held by CALB.
We got there early in the morning when they had booths where you can participate
in several numbers of activities. ~

Here's my friend working on her calligraphy!

I did some too~ but I forgot to take pictures!!

I didn't take very many pictures of the place just because it wasn't really anything special to look at, sadly. I was expecting to see a lot more.

What I did do was make a fan for a friend of mine at work.

V ~ for her last name initial.  My friend used the last M to make a fan for her mum.

One of the main reasons for my going to the event was to participate in the karaoke contest.
That event started like at 4 in the evening, so to kill time, we took the free transit bus and traveled around the area~!!

We went for lunch over at Bubba Gumps'

Loooove love looove that place! What sucked though was that we had horriiibble service that day. I usually go to this Bubba Gump's when I'm in Long Beach, but I never had to deal with any sort of bad service.

This was the first time my friends went over there, so I wanted them to have the whole Bubba Gump's Experience. But I mean, we had to keep flagging people down. Nobody came to greet us, nobody explained the concept of the restaurant - how the sign worked, other tables seated after us were getting their main courses before our appetizer. We only ordered that one dish. We had to flag people down for drinks, order, and even to check our food. I rarely EVER complain at restaurants. I would probably usually be the last to complain. So I was disappointed with that visit.

We didn't let that spoil the rest of our day thoo!

After eating lunch there, we went down to the docks to relax a little by the ocean~

I thought this picture was cute enough to be turned into a postcard!

Afterwards, we went to visit the Queen Mary!

Beauuuutiful ship!!

Such a shame that my friend wasn't hosting his tours that day

Since we didn't have money to go inside the ship, we toured the gift shop outside the Queen Mary. It was all in commemoration of the Russian Submarine tank they found, I believe!

When we walked in, we were greeted by this guy here.

Looks so scary!!

A little further down, they had one of the coin making machines, and sophia made one for herself~

They had a whole bunch of interesting stuff to look at! My favorite are these suits ^

I also found one of these stereotypical Russian hats!

Fun stuff they are! (> ∇ <);;

Afterwards, we headed back for the karaoke competition, aaaaaaand I won

Second Place!♡

It was fun and everyone was wonderful!

It was a fun day, but I feel like I had more fun in the Long Beach area instead of the actual "festival" itself. The actual festival itself was really kind of disappointing. I was expecting to see Sakura or at least fake ones, or SOMETHING with Sakura, but nope! Absolutely nothing~ minus one gallery where there were several artworks with it. They tried to do a live viewing of the Sakura from Japan, but that didn't work because the area where the guy on Skype was had a storm the night before. So all the flowers had gotten blown off ||| OTL

Oh well~ the rest of Long Beach made up for it! (> ∇ <);;

Until next time!
